No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

I’m not making any guarantees, expressed or implied. How’s that for slick Realtor language?

OK, so file this under ‘It seemed like a good idea at the time’, or ‘No good deed goes unpunished’, but here it goes anyway.

I decided to install a pickleball court. No, I have yet to play, but I’ve watched, and it should be a good social thing. Anyway, I called in my guy, Pedro, and he poured the most beautiful 66’ x 30‘ concrete slab you ever did see, and it’s perfect. I mean, it’s so level that water doesn’t flow. It just sits there until you sweep it, or it dries off. And it dries even, no high spots, no puddles, flat.

I asked Pedro about expansion joints – those ugly lines that a pickleball might find and bounce screwy. He said no, he would saw cut them after and they would be thin, and they were. He did a cut where the net will be and two cuts where the back lines will be. Perfect.

Now, this isn’t the first time I've called Pedro. Over the last couple of years, he’s installed turf where my high water-consumption grass used to be. He’s built walls and planters. He is incredible at block walls. And he built a carport with a vaulted tile roof.

Here is the disclaimer – I don’t think Pedro is licensed and he works for cash, but if you have a job for him, check his bid along with anybody else’s. He is reasonable.

Again, I’m saying how pleased I am and Pedro needs the work, but I’m not making any guarantees, expressed or implied. How’s that for slick Realtor language?

Pedro’s number is (480) 868-0889.

I wish you a Merry Christmas.

P.S. I’ll need him back in March or April, and if he gets too busy, that will be my punishment.
