Bewitching Halloween Party 2010!
To punctuate the end of our long Arizona summer October was joyously greeted with a spark of excitement as cool nights turned into cool refreshing days with just a hint of anticipation for the holiday season that would soon begin.
Witches and goblins and sacks of candy corn began to appear on desks as everyone decorated for Halloween, the first in our trilogy of holidays. In true Callaway tradition the garden room was closed and carefully guarded as boxes of secret decorations arrived and handymen with power tools entered, but mysteriously never left the now haunted garden room. The drilling, hammering and hissing noises that came from the room baffled everyone. What could possibly be going on in there? Only time would tell.
On the day of our party everyone arrived in full witch and warlock costumes ready to present their unique Halloween games and be judged by their peers from the black universe. At high noon the doors flew open to reveal a vision of Halloween gone wild, with purple and black walls, daunting flying witches and a tablescape Martha Stewart would envy.
We had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed playing games and listening to some rather ghostly stories. This Halloween party earned its place as one of our top ten celebrations. Afterwards we all returned to work with lifted spirits, full little tummies and memories that will last for years to come.
