July 4th Celebration 2011!
With Arizona afternoons warming to over a hundred degrees and rainy days a distant memory, we were more than ready for some time around the Callaway pool with cool drinks and a barbeque luncheon that would impress the most astute of outdoor grilling kings.
In the Callaway tradition, the patio and garden room were off limits as Judy transformed the tables into a sea of red, white and blue with delightful watermelon plates and fragrant flower arrangements. The morning seemed to drag on forever as we sat at our desks listening to the hustle and bustle in the kitchen and enjoying the occasional seductive whiff of baby-back ribs searing on the grill.
Finally, at the stroke of high noon, when we could no longer contain our excitement …. and hunger, the doors were opened and Jo Ann and Joseph graciously ushered everyone into the garden room with a twinkle in their eyes and smiles that stretched well beyond the polite “it’s nice to see you” into the “oh my gosh my face hurts” zone!
As always, it was so much fun to take a short break from work and enjoy the company of the Callaway team reminiscing about how we celebrated July 4th as children and sharing our plans for this year’s holiday weekend. We are forever thankful for our American liberty and always mindful of the sacrifices it has taken to secure those freedoms.
Whether you’re staying home, taking a road trip to exciting places unknown or visiting family and friends, we wish you happy times, good food and a safe Fourth of July weekend! Enjoy the moment.
