Birthday Bash Contest

Those Callaways 2011 Birthday Bash Contest

This contest ended June 15, 2011.

To all our contest participants,

Thank you so much for entering our Birthday Bash contest!  The total number of states visited by all our team members was 721 and the lucky winner of the $1,000 Macy’s gift card was A. B. from Scottsdale, Arizona with his incredible guess of 720.

Amazingly there were 5 entries that missed the correct answer by 10 or less.  Congratulations to all and may you all be winners next time!

***************************************************************************

Americans are known to be a mobile society and the agents of Those Callaways are no exception.

We have asked each agent to add up how many states they have lived in or visited.

Your job is to guess the grand total.

Remember, there are 30 of us and there are 50 states so you know the answer is less than 1500.

Put on your shopping shoes because this year’s prize is a Gift Card to Macy’s for $1,000!

To play the Callaway Birthday Bash game:

Email your guess, along with your name, address and the contest KEY NUMBER inside your birthday card to:

Entry deadline is June 15, 2011

Oops, we goofed!

Unthinkable as it may be, we must admit we made a mistake!

After working for several days stuffing, labeling, sealing and stamping over 5,000 Birthday Bash envelopes for our wonderful clients we were all happy to be finished with the project.

Tables were stacked high with boxes and boxes of these bundles of joy, waiting for Joey to personally escort them to the post office before it closed.  I remember him asking with a chuckle in his voice “are you girls sure this is all of them?” as he piled his truck to the brim.  “Oh yes, we gleefully answered”, they’re all on the back tables  …..  (Did you feel a little chill as the thought “Oh no!” just flew through your mind?!)

Yep, you’re right!  Days after the Birthday Bash cards had been mailed, we noticed a group of envelope boxes stacked ever so neatly in the garden room bookcase!  We approached them cautiously; surely these must be extra envelopes left over from the last mailing.  Slowly we pulled one out, hoping against all hope it would be empty.  But no, they were all beautifully labeled, sealed, stamped and ready to be mailed!

OMG (oh my gosh) it was as if someone had sucked all the oxygen out of the entire building.  Knees went weak and hearts stopped as the news scampered from desk to desk leaving behind only one question in everyone’s mind.  What now?

I’m not quite sure which one of our gallant souls delivered the news to our fearless leaders, Jo Ann and Joseph, but I think they should get a medal for bravery!

UPDATE:

I am happy to report that no heads were offed and Jo Ann and Joseph simply did what they always do…the RIGHT thing.  We created a new contest just for this group, printed and mailed new cards to those that were unintentionally left behind and gave away a SECOND $1,000 Macy’s gift card to a second lucky winner.

We hope you all enjoyed our Birthday Bash contest and CONGRATULATIONS  to BOTH of our winners this year!

Our Birthday Bash was wonderful.

We have posted our photographs to share with you!
