My First Introduction to Anheuser Busch

My #FirstHome was $8100 and just blocks from Anheuser Busch. A one thousand square foot cottage with three bedrooms and one bathroom. It was small but was a VA repossession and completely renovated. It was a bright, open floor plan which really was unusual at that time. I felt like I had moved into a model home!  Still to this day, I fondly remember the faint smell of hops in the air every afternoon. Life was simple then.

Ah, what a great thing: one’s first home! My first home was an apartment, but my first REAL HOME, an actual house that I bought, was a dream come true! It was all brick! With an unfinished full basement! It had 3 BRs, 1 1/2 Baths (a 1/2 bath with the MBR — I was in Heaven!), LR, DR (a true separate DR), kitchen, and a carport. It was 1300 S.F. It also had a HUGE chain-link fenced backyard. The cost was $15,000 and I assumed a 5.25% VA loan with $2,000 down (from my parents). The payments were $112.50 per month. It had “old gold” (color) sculptured carpet and basic linoleum flooring in kitchen & baths. What a glorious thing it was! I was thrilled to be a homeowner!!!!! Thanks for the memory! :)
